50 an hour 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago Position Summary The role of the Production Laborer is to perform necessary functions to efficiently, safely, and correctly prepare and process raw material using a wide range of methods and equipment for shipment to customers.
Essential Functions Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals.
Ensure product conforms to specifications.
Prepare and sort meat for processing by hand or by using equipment.
Work with machinery for sorting, sizing, and packaging.
Inspect meat for defects.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Apply quality assurance practices, hygiene and sanitation practices, and safe work policies and procedures.
Learn and understand the concepts of (what do these acronyms stand for) HACCP, SOP, and GMP.
Rotate to different production lines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to perform repetitive functions.
Must adhere to all company policies and regulatory guidelines.
Must be able to accept direction from Department Leads and supervisors Must be able to communicate with co-workers and supervisor.
Must be able to use knives, scales, and other cutting tools as necessary.
Attention to detail.
Great communication skills.
Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, or 6 months related manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
